Just started reading this amazing book for the fourth time, but only just realised the links between the novel and the Plantagenet kings!! Best book I ever read. I bought the DVD a while back and we sat up till 5am watching it. It was well cast and did full justice to the book. Couldn’t quite get into Cashelmara but I need to have another go.

Interest in HF: I've always loved reading about the past. Historical fiction has been my favorite reading genre since I was in high school. I'm 55 now, and still love it.
Favourite HF book: Rebecca, by Daphne du Maurier
Preferred HF: Not really. I'll read anything in the historical fiction genre if it sounds interesting. Though at the moment, I seem to have a weakness for WWI and Gilded Age themes.
Location: Southern Virginia, USA

I'm reading this one now! About halfway through, and I'm just mesmerized. When a book can rouse very strong emotions in me, whether good or bad, I KNOW it's a great book -- and this one is DEFINITELY doing that. I really love her evocative descriptions of Cornwall -- it's making me want to go there and see it for myself! Maybe someday .....
