I was very saddened to hear this. As many here know, I love her Mistress of the Art of Death series (melting Rosamund, aside ;) I'll treasure all my first edition hardcovers now. Truly, a loss, and now we'll not get to find out what happens to Adelia next :(

This is very sad news. I still have many of her older novels yet to read, though will miss seeing more of Adelia Aguilar.

I echo your sentiments. I will miss Adelia's adventures.

In this brief article, her husband says that she completed her last book (no more details than that though).

I hope it's an Adelia book.

Spotted on Publishers Marketplace today, a deal for a new one (or maybe an older one reissued? No title is given)

Mistress of the Art of Death series author Ariana Franklin's stand-alone medieval novel set during the chaotic and horrifying years of the war between Stephen and Matilda for the governance of England, [sold] to Rachel Kahan at Putnam, for publication in 2012, by Helen Heller at Helen Heller Agency (US). Canadian rights to Adrienne Kerr at Penguin Canada.
Ariadne posted this a while back- we were curious about whether it is a completely new title or a reissue of Morning Gift (the plot sounds pretty similar to MG). As it's a stand-alone it doesn't sound like another Adelia book.

It may be that the book she'd just finished is different than the one sold to Putnam for 2012 release, as the brief article implied the former didn't have a publisher yet. So maybe there will be a new Adelia to come. I'm sure we'll be hearing more in the coming months.

So we might get two posthumous DN novels - that's good news.
