I've gone thru 5 books that were so-so at best for me. I wasn't dying to pick up where I left off and was getting discouraged. Finally, I'm in the middle of a really good book, 'The King's Daughter', about Elizabeth Plantagenet, Richard III, Henry VII, Margaret Beaufort, Elizabeth Woodville, etc. I ...

'Silent in the Sanctuary' was painful. Can you say snooze fest?

Just finished this and gave it 5/5. It was long but so worth it. Enjoyed it immensely!

I like what Greg Mortenson does for the children of Pakistan and Afghanistan, but I also wonder what price his own children are paying for having a father who's rarely around. I guess I'm thinking as a mom here and for my own children.

'The Splendour Falls' could have been a great book. Alas, I found it disappointing. The author seemed to focus on unimportant things, then remember she had a story to tell, put in an out of the blue but important part of the story, then go right back to disjointed writing. There are lots of characte...

Wow. A-maze-ing. Powerful. Just a few of the adjectives I can think of to describe Jennifer Donnelly's novel "Revolution." This is one of my all time favorites, right up there with 'Katherine', 'The Book Thief', 'Saving CeeCee Honeycutt', 'To Dance with Kings', etc I didn't expect to get the current...

I decided to give up on this one. One of my NY's resolutions around books is to get my ratio of really good vs so-so reads higher. So if I'm not loving it I'm not reading it LOL!

I'm only on pg 40 and having a supremely difficult time getting into this book. I'm finding the varied, somewhat choppy sentence structure (compared to today's) hard to follow and understand what's happening. The only reason I'm chugging along is due to the overwhelming great reviews by hundreds of ...

I just love the Stephanie Plum series with the laugh out loud one liners and quirky but likable characters. Read half of C. Trent's new novel 'A Royal Likeness in '10 and half in '11 but thought it was so bad that I'm not going to count it on either list :S This was a terrible follow up to 'The Quee...
