My collections are so mundane compared to the rest of yours. I collect Noah's Arks--I have about two dozen.
ooh, that sounds interesting - people's collections are never mundane if it's what your passionate about. Are they china/porcelain or wooden or what? I'm looking f...

These are gorgeous Michy! A few years ago when Lord of the Rings films were out, I saw Arwen & Aragorn Barbies, I was very tempted to get them, but I don't need to start another collection. I really liked the Scarlet O'Hara dolls, which outfit is the missing one? I recognise the other 3, but can't t...
Heheh, ejays, I am a big Chalet fan too and I know just what you mean - still roll about laughing over that one!
Yep, probably about the least romantic "romantic" comment ever . :) She did not write romance at all well - I've read quite a few of her non-CS books, and s...

Dead and Gone - Charlaine Harris (one of the Sookie Stackhouse books)

and tomorrow it's supposed to be stinking hot, so I've got plans to take To Defy a King to the airconditionted shopping centre for an "outing" ;) in the middle of the hottest part of the day.

This reminds me of somewhere I visited when i was in the Blue Mountains (NSW) last year. It's a tea-shop whihc houses over 3000 teapots! The guy who runs / owns it was given his first teapot about 30 years ago, and people just kept on giving them to him, and it's gradually built up to the size it is...
Ejays17 - I'd like to see The King's Speech at some point - sounds like a good film. For my sins I have just got around to watching Ridley Scott murder Robin Hood. OMG it's stupendously silly. Okay, I know it's fiction, I know it's a story, but historical events are included but so ba...
(ok, aside from military and technical uses, what does SLOC stand for?)
It's from the Chalet School books by Elinor M Brent-Dyer, the main character refers to her future husband as a Solid Lump of Comfort at one point, and a site I belong to co-opted it to refer to one's partn...
What a very cool thing to collect. How do you have them displayed?
I only have one out at a time - at the moment I've got a Dr Who one (my first set, which started me on the slippery-slope to collecting :D ) which came with it's own board that has places to store the pieces ...

First movie of the "year" for us was "The King's Speech" - I usually have a bit of trouble getting SLOC to come see period pieces whihc don't have guaranteed explosions and / or bloodshed, but he was quite enthusiastic about this one. We both really enjoyed it, and can totally see why there's Oscar-...
