Saw Hop today - suitable pre-Easter viewing we thought. :D It was a fun way to spend a couple of hours, and I reaaallly wanted to take home the smallest Pink Beret (she with the allergies & puffer :) ) Both SLOC & I decided that Russell Brand was way less annoying if you couldn't actually see him *g...

My last historical was "A Blot on the Scutcheon" which i found as a free book at Project Gutenberg, so that comes under "browsing" but not at a physical bookstore. And the one before that was "The Black Moth" by Georgette Heyer (also from PG) whihc comes under "liked other works by the author" But m...

He's finished shouting at the game (his team lost :( )

He recommends Kill City at 119 Swanston St (between Collins & Bourke Sts).

Also City Basement Books 342 Flinders St website here

And there are others, but they're more out of the central city area.

Also Readers Feast (cnr of Bourke & Swanston Sts) have an excellent selection of NF Historical as well as a lot of "imports" whihc don't make it to the regular bookshops here ei...

Rango - the animated western with Johnny Depp (and others... :) ) SLOC & I thooughly enjoyed ourselves by picking out all the other film references! Best of the non-Westerns were Apocalypse Now & the trench run in Star Wars (I nearly laughed myself sick over that one).

SLOC & I were trying to work out how Jeff Bridges got a Best Actor nom, but Hailee Stanfield got a Best Supporting nom, where they were both equal with amout of screen-time. SLOC thinks it could be because Stanfield is only 14/15, but I think that makes her performance more worthy of a Best Actress ...
