Finished Pompeii. For me, it wasn't the kind of book I "loved" because I didn't relate to the characters much but I did enjoy it because I learned a lot and it was interesting most of the time. I've finally started The Help which I've had on Mount TBR for a while. I figured I better get it read befo...
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
I ended up really liking Redeeming Love, although my first thought when I started (and it was my first book by the author) was something along the lines of "this author's use of language and writing style just isn't very impressive'. But, o...

Finished Sansom's Sovereign which I enjoyed a lot, (though maybe not quite as much as Dissolution and Dark Fire).

Now I'm about half way into Amirrezvani's The Blood of Flowers. It's pretty good so far.

Started Mark Helprin's Winter's Tale but gave up about 1/4 of the way in - just not my "cup of tea".

Feeling like I needed a "sure thing", I decided on C J Sansom's Sovereign, the 3rd in the Matthew Shardlake series. I read the first two a while ago and loved them.

The story gets more intense as it goes along.
Not recommending the following as a "can't put down"...

I finished The Scarlet Seed, last in the Heaven Tree Trilogy and it was great. Now I've started my first Georgette Heyer - "Frederica". 55 pages in and it has really grabbed me yet. :(
