I can say: she is a very talented author and pretty detailed in historical facts. As somebody who'd read (and re-read)...

I didn't care for Fool's Tale either, for similar reasons. Too unbelievable, and even though the author's note explained her choices, that didn't save it; it just put me off further. I'll consider reading Godiva but may wait to hear others' reports first.

[quote=""Gabriele Campbell""]Though not all those German historical fiction books are good. There is a whole bunch that should rather belong in the Romance section - more like characters in costumes, girls dressed up as boys, midwives accused of withcraft several times over (it's a 6 book series by ...

[quote=""annis""] Edited to say that I've just spotted the p/b cover on GR and it is even worse- very classic HR, which doesn't give a true impression of this book at all. There was hint at the end that Hall of Sparrows might have a sequel, but if it was originally intended it obviously never happen...

I just finished the sequel to James Long's Ferney, called The Lives She Left Behind. And am debating on whether to write it up for my site (it's mainly present-day). Very much worth reading though.

[quote=""annis""] @Ariadne: One problem for Raven's Heart has been the fact that some readers clearly wanted/expected a conventionally romantic story and have had difficulties with the heroine's bi-sexuality. However, I have to say I never saw as an issue. Jesse Blackadder is gay herself, and the se...

It's true, the copies I found online were all quite expensive, and I never saw it available at stores that shipped internationally for free. I'll be getting the sequel once it's out.

I have a copy of Raven's Heart for review so was pleased to see you enjoyed it :)
