Robyn Young's "Crusade", having finished Brethren a few weeks back. Unlike CW Gortner I am not really enjoying it. It's not a bad book but there is so much padding and waffle. My main bugbear though is the fact that the characters speak and act like 21st century people dressed in ...

Way too many Borgia books. In between, Requiem by Robyn Young. I read the first one, Brethren, a few years ago and never got around to the last two, which I own. A recent trip had me throw Crusade into my suitcase (it was long paperback, which qualified as airplane read :) I ended up really enjoying...

Oh, "The Girl from Storyville" brings back memories. My parents forbade me from reading it and hid it away in the house (my father loved Frank Yerby) but I eventually found it. It was my first introduction to graphic sex in a novel. It's quite the lusty tale, as I recall. :p
Every since I tried to read Sacred Hearts by Sarah Dunant I have been wondering if there were more books about nuns out there. I find it fascinating. If anyone could list a few that would be great. BTW I gave up on Hearts because it was soooooo slowww.
Divia, you have to re-...

I'm taking this with me on my next vacation; I figure rather than lugging 4 books, this time one will do me just fine! Plus, the rave reviews have me very intrigued. Years ago, I loved an author named David Ball who published books in this vein of historical adventure: "Empires of Sand" and "Ironfir...
Boo, for the delay! It seems dates change all the time - I have a hard time keeping up with them sometimes...
We're also in title change throes, as we've discovered that a big-name author has a modern-day thriller coming out with the title "The Tudor Deception." I was pr...
The Tudor Deception by Christopher Gortner. UK release November 8, 2012.
I checked in with my UK publisher on this, as I had no idea it had been scheduled. I just turned in the revised ms. to St Martin's Press here in the US, so it looks as though Tudor Deception will mo...
