Re: Where Are You Now?

I see, I'm doing it wrong as a writer. I should throw the history out and put more men with chiselled chins and bulging biceps in.

And no longer waste my time researching correct Mediaeval names, when Amber or Jessica work as well. ;)

Re: What are you reading December 2015?

Lily & the Lion by Maurice Druon (Accursed Kings #6) Originally this was the final novel in the series. Druon later wrote a 7th one, making that final novel. I must admit that Druon's blatant homophobia put me off the series, and that was before I found Kathryn Warner's excellent blog about King Ed...

Re: Forthcoming Books: 2016 Edition

There should be new installments in the Roman series by Harry Sidebottom and Douglas James, and Ben Kane's second volume of the Arminius trilogy. Another Uhtred , hopefully. On the Fantasy front, Erikson's second Kharkanas book and Esslemont's first book of the Malazan- prequel. Plus the final volum...

It's my 9th bloggiversary this month. :) The latest tour led me to some German towns: Bamberg, Nuremberg and Regensburg, all with pretty old houses and beautiful churches. Regensburg also has Roman remains. There've been a few castles, too: Nuremberg Castle, Castle Donaustauf, Coburg Fortress. Plus ...

Ah, the Angelique books. I read a bunch of them as teen, too, but then came across that scene where Angelique and some other women are raped and she berates a girl - who had been a virgin - for not shrugging it off like she did, but crying instead. That was when the book hit the proverbial wall and ...
