I haven't read the book, but isn't it written from Bess of Hardwick's point of view, or at least one of the points of view?
There are three "narrators":

George Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury;
his wife, Bess of Hardwick; and
Mary, Queen of Scots

I have a copy of The White Queen .. I just hope it's much better than The Other Queen which was downright boring.

It's a reprint of Mrs Hartley and the Growth Centre or Midlife Mishchief (depending on where it was published)... I have the book and it is very daft.

WWII French Resistance - Female lead character

I had a borrower at my library requesting a book with a female lead character set in the French Resistance. I suggested White Mouse (non fiction) and Charlotte Gray, but I had trouble thinking of other books.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cowra is just up the road from me - there is a beautiful Japanese Garden as a tribute (just as we have a Chinese Tribute Garden here ).

"A Town at War" is a NF read you might like to track down:

Actually I was only thinking yesterday that I must read New Moon before the movie comes out (November apparently).. so I'll start this as soon as I can.
Although there are other books I'd prefer to read :)
