I preordered with Amazon, and when they sent me a dispatch note e-mail yesterday it was a nice surprise (and I made sure I was in to meet the postie :) )

I thought the releae date was September 1st

I like the era, although I have been put off recently. My local book group read The Blackstone Key by Rose Melikan (an "adventure" novel set in 1790s England) Over 90% of us (myself included) found it incredibly dull. I think I need to cross the channel and have a little Dumas make things right again.
