Re: can't remember title and author novel (Victorian London, mistaken identity))
Hi, I'm afraid I can't help and looks like no-one else has chimed in either. Do you remember any more specific details, the description is a little vague. Also if you haven't tried already, there's also a Reddit for "name that book": https://www.reddit.com/r/whatsthatbook/ Final suggestion, did you ...

Re: Ebook freebies and deals 2017 edition
Amazon UK - Free 3-month Kindle Unlimited Trial available until midnight tonight. Late notice but I only saw this now, and unfortunately I can't share a link since each Amazon member can only use the deal once, then the link generates an error page. But you just need to go to any Kindle Unlimited-el...

Re: 100 Must-Read Medieval Historical Fiction Novels
Thank you for the link Rowan, I only just got to it now but there are lots of interesting sounding books on there that I've never heard of! I only own 16 of the titles mentioned and haven't even read them all yet...

On no Emily I know the pain of having a burst pipe decimate half your home. I hope you're able to restore as much comfort as possible by the time winter sets in.

Re: What are you reading October 2017?
I'm reading Footsteps in the Dark by Georgette Heyer.
It's one of her mysteries and I'd say it's Halloween-appropriate - rather than a murder, the mystery is a haunted house. Although none of the characters believe there's an actual ghost (yet to be determined...), there are a few spooky moments!

Re: Versailles (tv series)
We watched seasons 1 and 2 of Versailles when they were on TV, I found it enjoyable in a trashy, over-the-top Tudors sort of way. It's more 'loosely based' on history most of the time, but in the UK each episode was then followed up by a 10-minute review of the episode by a couple of historians (and...

Re: Dejavu book covers
Am I imagining it or have I seen this one before? (The photo, not the book spine). https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51oiqSQcWxL.jpg I immediately thought Kate Furnivall, but I can't find any matching covers for her books. Some are close though, a few ladies in red dresses with some ...

Re: Artists
I just thought of one, it's not about a specific artist/artwork (in fact IIRC they are all imaginary) and it's a timesweep running from the years 1333-2060, but I did enjoy Girl Reading by Katie Ward. Each story is based on a painting, photograph, sculpture etc of a woman reading, and tells the stor...
