Thanks everyone for their good wishes! I did indeed get to celebrate, with some of my girlfriends at a lunch at Cheesecake Factory, the table laden with fake pears (there is a pear on the cover), and everyone armed with my book that they had just bought next door at Barnes & Noble.

I thought Joss Stone did a great job. Apparently, Anne was not necessarily ugly - it was a case of no sexual chemistry. I do think it is intriguing though, the longer nose that was revealed in an x-ray in one of her portraits.
