Kasthu's 2014 List

It's been a looooong time since I last posted in this forum, but just wanted to share what I've read this year (in chronological order; it's a skimpy list considering i've been reading memoir and other nonfiction in preparation for writing my own book): 1. Outlander, by Diana Gabaldon (re-read) 2. H...

Reviving an old thread to talk about one of my new favorites--I know Shadow of the Moon has been mentioned, which I read about a month ago and LOVED. Also have Olivia and Jai on the TBR, and Zemindar, by Valerie Fitzgerald.

I managed to snag a copy through Amazon Vine, and Oh. My Gosh. was it fantastic. Yes, the use of pronouns can difficult to get through, especially with Wolf Hall. I'm reading a bit of nonfiction--I'm in Victorian England with Mrs. Robinson's Disgrace, an ARC of a book by Kate Summerscale, author of The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher. This time, she chronicles an infamous 1850 divorce case based on the imaginative diaries of a housewife.

I'm on the last day of my vacation in London and I've done untold damage at Waterstone's, Hatchard's, and various Charaing Cross Road secondhand booksellers. A full list of what I've bought is coming, but I was most excited to see a reprint of MM Kaye's Shadow of the Moon at Hatchard's (the new cove...

Not really "shopping," but I just found out I won a copy of Lionheart (aka the Holy Grail) on Library Thing Early Reviewers!!!!!!!

PS--25 copies were available, 1368 people requested. The algorithm gods were smiling on me!

PPS--you may not know this, but I have a HUGE historical crush on Richard!
