However, at that time, diagnosis would not have been very specific. Microscopes were only in their infancy, so all diagnosis would have been via clinical examination.

BTW, I work in pathology, so medical history interests me, though i haven't studied it formally.

Parade's End by FOrd Maddox ford (book and TV miniseries) are set during WW1 too.

I loved The Village! There is an out of print book that I loved called Bury Him Among Kings by Elleston Trevor which I loved. I have a kindle paperwhite that i love. Didn't expect to love it this much! I had intentions of reading one kindle book and then one real book as i have soo many, but it hasn't happened for a long time. As far as non-fiction goes I am a bit torn between the two.
