There are news on an English release. On her homepage Rebecca Gablé now says that her first historical novel, Das Lächeln der Fortuna, is now named Fortune’s Wheel and will be released as a three part ebook, sstarting in February 2014. I know this is an old thread, but Rebecca Gablé just said that her first historical novel, "Das Lächeln der Fortuna", will be published as "Lady Fortune's Smile" in May 2013. I can't tell you if in England or America, but at least there will be an English translation. The novel is set in 14th centur...

Apparently the release date for the US has changed. It now says on Bernard Cornwell's homepage: Coming to the UK in September of 2011 Coming to the US in January of 2012 Germans will most likely have to wait about half a year longer until we get our translated versions. And as I already own the firs...

I've started reading this series in May, last week I've started Swordsong.
I really love the books, they are so different to most of the HF novels available.

Only thing I'm not so happy with is that there's no conclusion to the series yet and that not even the author himself knows when he'll end it.

I read The greatest Knight nearly three years ago (German translation) and I loved it. It's definitely on my personal top 20 list, maybe even in top 10!
I haven't come around to get Scarlet Lion yet, but it's near the top of my wishlist.

@Veronica, LoveHistory and Madeleine: Thanks for the welcome! @Wendi: Vielen Dank! So far I have a lot of fun here! I grew up in a small village near Kassel, now I live in a bigger city near Hannover. @DianeL: I don't mind horrible covers or getting old books as long as what's written in it is good ...

First I read HF for entertainment, because that's why fiction is written. But then I also want to learn something. My history lessons at school have been very basic, and we totally skipped the middle ages - from Roman times (not even the Fall of Rome) we went directly to French Revolution... And liv...

I call about 400 books my own, with 90% being historical fiction and historical fantasy. I keep most of my books, I only re-sell or swap if I absolutely hate them. I want to be able to re-read them if I want to, so I just can't give them away. When I entered these books into a list (several tabs at ...
