I haven't seen that film, but at my local murder mystery bookstore they rave about it and the book. I'll have to now. I see that the same man who wrote "State of Play" (Russell Crowe film? I think) wrote the screen play. Also that kid Alex Pettyfir (he's in Beastly, which was awful, but he did a goo...

Oh, did she sell the movie rights? :( Not sure how I feel about that, as of course what Hollywood will do is dumb them down and cast someone like Miley Cyrus in the role. Forgive me if anyone likes her. ;) I shudder to think how awful they'll be. Well, one can hope. The LoTR movies were pretty damn ...

What's the release date on this for the US? I'm still looking for the second one here. Really liked The Forgotten Legion.

My favorite is good old Jude Deveraux's A Knight In Shining Armor, even though it's hideously dated and the heroine is annoying to the extreme. I love this idea and being a fan of time travel stuff anyway (Barbara Erskine, Diana Gabaldon) I gave this one a try as someone gave it to me. Love it, love...

I adore Falco; this was an entertaining book although not my favorite. As I said, having a hard time focusing right now. I have a few of Mr. Saylor's other things, so perhaps later on in the year I will try them. I also picked up Medicus by Ruth Downie - I love Ancient Rome so I need my "fix" as Cat...

I finished Alexandria and really enjoyed it; it was a bit padded, I thought, but the history was informative and interesting and I adore Falco as I always do. His relationship with Helena is fabulous and their banter definitely sets the tone of the books for me. I also really like the way their chil...

Great review. I started this book a few months ago and could not finish it for some reason. I got annoyed - or something - by the winged phallus although I know enough about history to know that this type of amulet would make sense. I've had a hard summer, so perhaps I couldn't focus on it at the ti...
