I just watched the Netflix movie and greatly enjoyed it. Pared down to a two hour movie, but they captured everything that mattered and some things were nicely understated.

I haven't listened to a good travel book in a long time, so I picked up Kapka Kassabova's Border: A journey to the Edge of Europe, which is part travelogue, part memoir and historical rumination about the borders and people who have lived along the margins of Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece.

After watching and enjoying the first two seasons of The Last Kingdom on Netflix, I’ve started re-reading Bernard Cornwell’s Saxon Stories from the very beginning. I had only read up to book five years ago, so I hope to catch up on all the later ones.
