I'm not doing NaNo properly - I'm just far too busy in November with everything else to devote all my "spare" time to writing, but SLOC and I are doing a modified version. We've made a deal to write at least 100 words a day - which he can do quite easily as he does write most days! But I've been going along nicely at the moment, although ti's only the first week

Hope everyone is doing well with their own challenges of writing!

I'm on track. Got a little behind one day last week, but have caught up. I'm rediscovering the joy of writing. There's always this hump to get over at the start of a writing session, and with all the distractions of life, it's really helpful to have NaNo give me that extra push to spend a larger chunk of time on my fiction every day. It gets me over the bumpy part to the joy.

I'm still sliding past my wordcounts. I would so like to get ahead and finish early. Don't know if I can manage that this year.

Ran into a problem with Word on my new laptop. Now I'm almost afraid to use it again.

Laptop is again running smoothly. I eked past 16,667 last night.

How is everyone else doing?

Congrats, LH! I am drastically behind. Haven't looked at my stats. Had some paying work come in that I had to put first. But I was doing very well until a few days ago, so I feel fairly confident that I can jump back in and still make 50K by the end of the month if I work at it.

I've fallen behind. Very tired. Dealing with sick kids. Little one is getting better but it looks like my oldest may be next.

I need some inspiration and a couple 5,000 word days.

Aw, that's rough. Hope your kids are feeling better soon.

I did 1,058 words this evening, which is not bad considering I didn't start writing until pretty late. My stats show exactly what happened - a stretch of days this week in which nothing got written (well, not NaNo stuff, anyway). I'm hoping for 3 days of 2000-words-plus to get back on track. Last year, I started out slow and had some very good days toward the end, which put me over the top.

So glad to hear your kids are better. 25,000 is not bad at all as of the 18th - you can still pull this off! I just broke 30,000, end of the day on the 22nd.

I am now officially caught up. I even have a three word jump on tomorrow's writing.
