Black Ships by Jo Graham

Post by JaneConsumer » Fri September 5th, 2008, 8:27 pm

My earlier review, reposted here:

From the haunting tablets from Ugarit, these are the last words of the city: "The fleet is away. Black ships have been sighted ..."

I very much enjoyed Jo Graham's retelling of what happened to the people who survived the Trojan War. It's told from a woman's point of view, which makes it unusual and interesting. But it also makes me wonder if the characterizations are too modern. Maybe someone here will have an opinion.

The full review on Fuzzy History is here. I'd love to hear from you!
