Happy Thanksgiving!
This is the time of year to cherish family and count our blessings. One of the thing I'm thankful for is this on-line community of readers and writers so I don't have to spend each working day in isolation. Thanks to everyone who makes this site happen. Enjoy the holidays!

- Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
- Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
- Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

And A happy Thanksgiving from me, too. At the moment I'm most thankful that we had our big family event LAST Sunday, and I have just seen the last of my traveling relatives on their way off to other family events. My daughter started the tradition of having our celebration on the weekend before about seven years ago, when she got married and the 'whose parents will we spend thanksgiving with' question was happening on two fronts.
So whatever day you celebrate, may everyone have a delightful time with family and friends.
Do other countries have a similar holiday? I know Canadian Thanksgiving is in October--I REALLY tried to get our family dinner moved to then.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and good shopping to those crazy enough to brave Black Friday (shudders). And the boss was crazy enough to brave Costco today, the day before the holiday. He got no sympathy from us.
At home with a good book and the cat...
...is the only place I want to be
Happy Thanksgiving to all HFOers who celebrate it
We don't have Thanksgiving here, but it's St Andrew's Day on Sunday.
Happy St. Andrew's Day too!

Hullo everyone~
I'm deliberately sending this greeting a day late. The day of Thanksgiving prompts many folks to celebrate various gratitudes with more enthusiasm than may be typical. How wonderful, eh! I'm endeavoring to also have awareness and gratitude of blessings (small and large, 2-legged and 4-legged, sentient or not) on a daily basis.
Yesterday afternoon I toasted "the laughter and love of friends and family who are here and to those who are not". With focused attention, I again acknowledge this blessing today. I feel very fortunate.
I don't mean to sermonize, I am sensitive, sentimental and wanting to share this thought with my new HFO acquaintances.
(And not to forget....I am also extremely thankful for the yummy, homemade LEFSE we enjoyed at meal yesterday.)
Good wishes to all!
