Yeah, I just looked up Whoppers and they seem to be a similar thing, ie chocolate coated malted milk balls, but a separate product, not the same thing with different packaging. Would love to do a taste test if I ever get the chance.

Maltesers are my all time favourite cinema snack. I want some now I've posted about em.

We are all learning...it's super...

Good thing Lady Moppet thought to bring along some chocolate! I'd love to read John's letter to Mrs. Kensington. LOL

Default Part Twelve: Correspondence

That evening John read out to me the letter he had written to Mrs Kensington.

John, by the grace of God, King of England, to Mrs Kensington, Little Princes and Princesses Nursery, greeting.

Our faithful friend Lady Moppet of Yorkshire has signified to us that you have had the charge of the education of our beloved son Oscar, for which Lady Moppet has dispensed large sums. So we marvel that our son was suffered to consort with common children, which we were far from inferring from the name of your establishment. And we were astonished and concerned to learn that he was treated neither kindly nor honourably, but offered insults and threatened with expulsion. As God is our witness, we are greatly irritated and incensed thereat. Know that we call you and your house to account for it, and we command you diligently and effectually to treat of this business and to desist from the exactions you are making from Lady Moppet. And so act in this that we may not have cause to offer injury to you or your property. Witness ourself at Marlborough, the 9th day of April, in the second year of our reign.

“I’m rather pleased with it,” he said.

“Oh, it’s very good,” I said approvingly.

“It’ll show her what's what.”

“It will, darling.”

“I don’t think,” he said meditatively, “that I’m going to execute you after all. I’ll have you know I’m still annoyed about that crown business. But you’re making yourself useful, and you’ve given me the best son a man could ask for, so on the whole I think I’ll spare your life.”

“Sweet of you, darling.”

“You can have the same deal as my other mistresses. I’ll sleep with you at least once a week, buy you all the clothes you want, and if you disobey me, or run away, or look at another man, I’ll kill you. What do you say?”

“All right then, darling.”

See what I mean? What a nice king he is!

Lady Moppet, I've been thinking. Is there any chance you could entice John to come back with you when you finally complete your mission? You can leave Oscar behind so as not to change history and he seems to be having a super time!

Just imagine what King John could do here. He could bring back some much-needed discipline in our schools, restore the monarchy to it's former glory and sort out the corrupt politicians. Then he could re-invade France so we could all enjoy some cheap Bordeaux again and, best of all, we could re-colonise the americas!!

The present incumbent wouldn't mind too much, she has already applied to the sisters of Perpetual PMT for a place in their convent at Windsor and Charlie is happy enough talking to the trees in his garden.

What do you think?

Ken, although I do agree that John has been overly maligned throughout the centuries, I take exception to the idea of recolonizing the Americas. I wouldn't mind some aspects of course, but I don't much care for tea.

It would of course, be interesting to see John interacting with Parliment.
