Default How to wear your breasts in 17thC fashion.

I loved this article on the above subject heading.

Fabulous post Love the lady with her pipe letting it all hang out, though I'm thinking that particular fashion must have been a bit chilly in an English winter (or summer, for that matter). The breast as political statement! Wonder what statement the ice-cream cones of the 1950s were making? And I'm sure those Regency ladies (supposedly liberated from underwear) used some sort of corsetry to get that boobs-hoisted-to-just-under-the-chin look you see in many contemporary pictures.

I bet a few disappointed 17th century ladies wall-banged The Ladies' Diary after marinating their boobs as per instructions and finding that their saggy, "uncomely" breasts hadn't miraculously become plump and round overnight!

LOL. "nipple on display" how dreadful!

Great reading, though, I never have trouble with my corsets.

Thanks for sharing, EC. Dangerous things necks. Ha! Great stuff. To think I planned to wear a bikini to the beach this year, exposing all but the two little bits that should be free!
