    Hi there
Thought I'd let you know that I finished The last queen yesterday and it did not take long to finish it! You can be sure I'll grab a copy of your other books now. By the way, I had never heard of Juana before so I definitly learnt something!

    Mr. Gortner,
I just received "Confessions" in the mail. It is a Christmas gift from my dad. I'll start in on it tonight. It looks enticing.

Hi Christopher, I did have a wonderful Christmas-day/weekend, thanks. I hope you did too. And you actually did read a short-review I had posted in the forum, it's the least we can do when we fall in love with a good story! And I have been recommending your novel to my friends....

Have a great New Year's holiday Christopher, and may this year of 2010 be a prosperous one and full of new experiences =)

Saludos Mr. Gortner! Yesterday, I felt very honor to have received and to accept your request to be friends with me in this forum, thank you!! I recently became a follower of your blog which I think is fantastic, and I have also followed your comments here in HFO. It's wonderful to see how engaged authors are with their fans thanks to the wonderful technology which brings us closer, we appreciate this a lot. As I mentioned in SKP's facebook, I am currently reading the The Last Queen and I am totally enjoying it. Your story of Juana has captivated my heart as well as your artistic writing which can describe so beautifully the landscapes of Spain and Flanders. And Juana’s voice is so vivid that I have felt that I am there, being a spectator, watching every move and hearing every word from each of your characters. Tender words such as "Mi Madrecita" and "Mi Hija" have touched my heart deeply since I can relate to those tender words being Mexican myself and which we use very much as part of our daily vocabulary. Last but not least Juana's love for her dad is very touching to me because I have also felt and still feel that greater love for my dad. Of course mom doesn't stay behind, but I think you understand… =).

I don’t want to abuse of your time, so let me end by thanking you for befriended me Mr. Gortner. We will be in touch thru these many forums, blogs, FB, etc.

Un sincero saludo y le deseo un maravilloso dia.

I was wondering if you read Schoonover's PRISONER OF TORDESILLAS when you were prepping your book on Juana and if you found his take too fanciful or not. I enjoyed the book, but I have no background study of Juana. I'm looking forward to reading your book when I can get it. Jack
