Hello everyone,

Glad to find this site and glad to see other historical fiction fans out there. Where I live in Abilene, not many people care for it. Not that I've found anyway.

I like medieval type fiction ala Pillars of the earth and Cathedral of the Sea.

See you around the site!

Not sure if you listen to it, but Garrison Keillors Prarie Home Companion was in your town last week. I liked the things he said about it - never been there but it made me want to perhaps some day (tho I want to visit Austin first)

I do listen to it and I missed it! With work I couldn't go and then the same with the broadcasts. Abilene isn't bad, lots of historical stuff happened here.

I really liked it. I'm not big into Spain's history so I'm not sure how accurate some of it is and there's a few things I'm not sure could have happened as written, but it was a really good book.

It's a really good read...I don't want to spoil it for you by giving anything away. Thanks for the welcome! I'm enjoying it so far.
