At the old forum we had some discussions about a couple of books related to Lady Jane's sisters (link: http://www.historicalfiction.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2822)
One of those books was about Catherine by Marie Sandeford and was called Second Sister but no one seemed to be able to find it but I put it on my Amazon UK wishlist anyway. A few days ago, I was looking over my wish list and noticed that it said the book was available (new) and sure enough, I was able to order it and it's already on its way. It looks like it is no longer available though.
Did anyone else happen to see this and get one? If not and you are interested, you might check periodically at Amazon UK and see if it becomes available again. With shipping to the US, it was about $30 - more than I usually like to pay for a book, but I used my "book allotment" for October to buy it.

Congrats! Did it come from a private seller who was selling his/her own copy? Or maybe Amazon found a long-lost copy in their warehouse?
I bought a copy of Second Sister back when it was still in print but I've yet to read it. You'll probably get to it before I do!

I don't think it is a used copy. I don't really know how the used copies work on Amazon, but it is being shipped directly from Amazon UK and in the description it said it was "in stock". When I look at the order itself, it says it was sold by "Amazon EU S.a.r.L" (I have no idea what that means).

No idea what the "SarL" part stands for either but it appears to be Amazon itself (I googled it). Hopefully other copies will turn up in their warehouse so others can buy it.

I have this one on my book depository wishlist. It came up as available a while back, and I sent off an order straight away. THen a few days later I had an email that it was unavailable and that I had been refunded for it.
I hope it pops up again!

I believe someone said it was a self published book. Watch one of us gets it and the thing will be blah cause we all want it so badly.

I'll have to read it once I get it and let everyone know. If it's decent, maybe we can work out a way to get copies to those who want one.

At one point we talked about having a travelling book, but it didn't get past second stop I think.

I just received the following email from Joroby Books re: The Second Sister (presumably since Librarything shows I own a copy) and thought I'd share it with you all...
Websites called LibraryThing and Historical Fiction Forum have been brought to our attention concerning one of our titles: THE SECOND SISTER, A Royal Tudor Romance by Marie Sandeford. We’d like to let readers who use these sites know that this book is very much in print and about to have another reprint. In the UK it’s available through the usual outlets, including Amazon. For overseas readers, the link to AbeBooks from your LibraryThing website will detail a UK bookshop called Treasure Trove Books which deals with customers all over the world. One or two signed copies are available at the moment through this shop and more (unsigned) copies could be supplied there if required.

I finished Sandeford's The Second Sister. I had a little trouble getting into at first, but once I did, I thought it was pretty good. If anyone is interested in reading it, please PM me and perhaps we can work something out (I have a couple of ideas) since Amazon UK still shows that it's not in stock.

Excellent. Look forward to reading it!
there is two used copies of Second Sister for $69 on amazon, I cannot afford it right now but I'll be watching for it, it sounds good and Jane Grey is an interesting subject.

Having read it, I would not pay $69 for it. It's good (not excellent) but not worth that!

That is way more than I would pay for any book!
