BBC and HBO line up Wolf Hall drama

The BBC and HBO are developing a TV drama mini-series adaptation of Hilary Mantel's Man Booker prize-winning historical novel Wolf Hall.

Yay! I haven't read the book yet, even though I got it last Christmas. I hope to this next year-if I get through Edward I and Edward III in my challenge!

She's currently working on the sequel, and apparently there will be a 3rd part too. The 2nd part will deal with the Anne Boleyn era, and the 3rd part the rest of Cromwell's life. Part 2 will be called Bring out the Bodies, and part 3 something like Mirror and Light, which was the original title of the sequel.

BBC and HBO -there's a couple of heavy hitters! Between them they should do Wolf Hall proud. HBO is just brilliant - love what they did with Rome and Game of Thrones, and BBC is the best for costume dramas.

Well I've read Wolf Hall 3 times and I still don't 'get it'....Maybe I will understand the screen version better and have a light bulb moment. I do hope though they pick good strong actors for the part...One of the reasons for the success of GOT and Rome was the acting was superb(though I did not like the actress who portrayed Cleopatra).

I'll be keeping an eye out for it:)

Wow, I haven't even read it once, and The Tudors is my preferred dynasty. What were you having problems with?

Hi SM,
I simply could not follow the book as the author seemed to jump all over the place. I know other readers feel as I do and yet others loved the book..so in the end I suppose its different horses for different courses....but I will watch the TV show of it. I also love reading Tudor history and only yesterday 'Winter King' arrived by post:D it is on my ever growing TBR list.

Given how long it will take to produce, film and make its way across the pond, I may get to read the book before seeing it.
