Here's an interview he recently did about the book:
http://www.kenilworthweeklynews.co.uk/whats-on-news/Warwick-is-missing-a-trick.4456261.jp
It doesn't say exactly when it's out, just "next year".

I love the description of Ives in the article--"Warwick author and reputable historian." I guess to distinguish him from all those sleazy, disreputable historians lounging about!

Eric Ives has informed me that his book, titled "Lady Jane Grey: A Tudor Mystery" will be out Spring 2009. And apparently me and my website will be thanked in the book for helping him with images. *BIG GRIN*
I might just have to up how much bandwidth the site has if I get an influx of new visitors! LOL!

Found a page on Amazon UK for this book, the release date is Aug 12, so a bit of a wait. Assuming I don't get a free copy from Eric, I think I know what I want for my next birthday! Aug isn't exactly spring but oh well!

How ironic, the US copy just showed up on Amazon today, it's also out in Oct 09, at least that's what it says:

This looks interesting... I like the outline/structure on Wiley's site and the suggestion of delving into the power politics behind Edward's will.
Having just read a NF book by Adam Nicolson about the Pembrokes, I'm hoping there's more insight into them in here, too...

30 bucks seems a bit high to me.

What did you think of the Nicolson?

Absolutely loved the Nicolson book; see my 5-star review on Amazon. He's a wonderful writer and he knows the period (well, probably the Jacobean more than the Tudor). He also has a knack for introducing a topic to an audience who may be new to the material and showing how he became hooked on the people he was writing about. Also appealing is his ability to combine insight into social/literary/artistic life with the power politics of the time. On my TBR pile is his book about the islands off the coast of Scotland that were given to him by his father, and the period of time he spent living there alone & discovering them. Then I plan to read "God's Secretaries" -- a book about the making of the King James Bible -- which is waiting for me on my Kindle. After which I will read his book about Trafalgar! (Napoleonic battles are a bit out of my usual comfort zone, but that is the hallmark of a great writer -- they take you to new spots and show you what you've been missing.)

Thanks! I've been thinking of buying this one--and I want to get the Eric Ives book too.

Publisher's Weekly has a short review of this book, I found it at a site called "Tudor Book Blog":

Looking forward to it! Since reading Leandra de Lisle's book, I'm interested in seeing another scholar's take on these events.

Does anyone in the UK have a copy of this yet? I checked with the publisher and the publication date was Friday 2nd October but Amazon.co.uk still have it listed as pre-order and my local Waterstones didn't have it.

I only know that it's supposed to be out on Oct 19th here. It's weird that Amazon UK would say Oct 2nd and yet not honor the date.

Thanks Sonjamarie. Well, I hope it is published on time in the States. I just checked on Amazon.co.uk and it is now listed as up to 3 weeks to deliver! Will be checking out my local book shop at the weekend.
Correction it now says in stock at Amazon.

If you get it before I do can you check and see if my name and site are actually mentioned in the thanks or acknowledgments? Thanks!

Whoo hoo! Now to get my very own copy!
Of course it would've been better if he had spelt my first name right and left the "Grey" in the name of my site, oh well :)
