View Full Version : E-book lending
http://booklending.com/
I just came across this site which could be of interest. I have just discovered that Kindle now does allow a one-off (I think) lending period of two weeks. I am not sure how it works but the concept is interesting.

That is an interesting idea. I also wonder how it works!

It's a pretty easy system to use but the downside is that most (if not all?) the major publishers have opted out of it so most books aren't available to loan/borrow. I have about 130 Kindle books and only about 20 are loanable. That's what, less than 15%? Pitiful.

Lendle (http://lendle.me/) is another service, but like Mythica, I haven't found it worth it to sign up since publishers have restricted most of the selections.

I have loaned a couple of Kindle books to friends who were interested in the same type of reads. If I remember correctly, you go to your Kindle account page and next to the books purchases it says 'Loan this book' (for those available for lending). Then you give the name and e-mail of the person you're sending the book to and voila, it appears on their Kindle the next time they turn it on.
(ETA on Kindleboards.com there is a Lend and borrow exchange (http://www.kindleboards.com/index.php/board,62.0.html) specifically for people who want to swap reads.)
