Because I have several friends on here, I wanted to let you know that I recently had a very close call. I was ill during my book tour for The Beloved Dead, but put it down to exhaustion. One morning, a neighbor was unable to contact me and came to my house. He found me in a coma, a body temp of 92, and a blood sugar of 1700. I had no idea that I was diabetic. Quite frankly, I wasn't expected to live. They life=flighted me to Jackson, TN where I was put on ventilator etc. and listed in critical condition. For whatever reason, I survived and am now back at home. But, had I died, I would certainly have haunted this list.

Glad you are OK and not going to haunt us. I know I've hit some high notes on the glucose meter, but I've never heard of one that high.

Oh my God, I am so glad to hear you are okay! I know what it is like to have an illness that disrupts your life and makes everything grind to a halt.

Get well soon & hope you get back to your tour in the near future.

How frightening! Glad you're on the mend and back in the land of the living. At least the diabetes has been discovered and can be dealt with now. You will have to take care of yourself.

Wow! Take care. Reminds me of the author who was in a car wreck and kept thinking he had to remember all the details so he could write about them later on. May writing about this experience be the only way you will ever relive it!

Wow, Tony! You've certainly had a miracle. I'm glad you would have haunted the board though. It's good to have a plan, just in case. ;)

My husband has been diabetic for more than 20 years. It's not easy, but it beats being dead. Very glad you're still with us.

I had been sick the weekend before, but I thought it was the flu. I went to a doctor, and he thought it was a virus. I remember being brought home after the doctor's appointment, and then the next thing I remember is being awakened five days later in intensive care. But I'm getting stronger every day now. Thanks for your good thoughts, Chris.
