Okay, well since I just finished reading the fourth in Angie Sage's Septimus Heap series, I thought I might share them here. I personally have enjoyed each of them as much as I did the Harry Potter series as they are on the same par. Also, Sage has simplified magic by simply making the 'spell' in bold letters and adding an 'e' to the end if one's not already there. These are the titles for others who might be interested (either for yourself or for your children):

Edit: If you are looking for an age group for these books, I'd say no younger than 10. Borders sells them in the Young Adult Reader section, too.

I am glad I am not the only adult to enjoy these books.....still have to pick up the last one. Might do so tomorrow when I go bookshopping in Amsterdam;)
