Yep, a whole thread just for him!:D

Diana has put up a link (http://voyagesoftheartemis.blogspot.com/2008/09/jamie-and-graphic-novel-mr-f-and-mr.html)to a picture that she says is a fairly good representation of what Jamie looks like to her.

Awfully young there. I'd gotten so used to him being more...well..mature by the last book. But yes, Jamie deserves a whole thread to himself :p:)

Yeah...he'll do...for the Cross Stitch years.

Mind you I am reading The Fiery Cross atm, and he is 49.

So Claire must be almost her mid fifties. I do kind of wish that there wasn't the 20 year missing years, as we might have got a lot more books!

LOL, Amanda! He'll do. :p

I'm trying to think who he looks like, he's a mixture of a few people!

I miss no end of threads if they're not on top when I come to the forum for a quick break from the day job.
Just seen Jamie's 'lookalike'. Ummmm.... Nope. Doesn't do it for me in my imagination, although I can't think of anyone I'd suggest. Eyes and nose are very wrong to my mental image and the hair is too dark. He's nice looking but not enough WOW factor. Keep on searching....

I am actually quite suprised, pretty good resemblance to the image in my head. I think the eyes and hair are pretty much bang on, but the nose and mouth could be fine tuned. Can't wait to see him with a few more age lines and battle scars! ;)

Years ago someone posted a pic to an e-list I was on and I thought that it was pretty much as I imagined Jamie Fraser to look, but I can't remember who the guy was - an ice skater? Perhaps not. Goldfish memory strikes again.:(

Guest reviewer Susan Gillmor has written a fun review of <i>Outlander</i> for my website: http://www.HistoricalNovels.info/Outlander.html.

Plus, there's a link at the end of the review to a Diana-Gabaldon-approved picture of what Jamie Fraser looks like. Cuuute!

Great review and I love the picture of Jamie- very much as I'd imagined him, though possibly his designer stubble should be a little more ginger!

That is kind of dissapointing to me! I pictured him much more ruggedly handsome than that. That just soo doesn't fit the Jaime I pictured for two months while devouring the entire series! :(

I definitely see the bones of him in the photofit, though I imagine him now as older and more formidable in appearance as it's not long since I read "Breath of Snow and Ashes" and he's a mature and powerful chieftain there.

I love the picture http://www.smilies.be/h/hartjes/4754.gifalthough it's not at all the way I imagened him.

He's not quite what I imagine in my head, but he is a hot piece of somethin'!!!

Hello, everyone! The picture's surprisingly close to the Jamie I imagine, except(!). . . Diana always gives him higher cheekbones and slanted eyes and he'd benefit from a scar or two. And I don't picture him with the Don Johnson/Miami Vice kind of facial growth; I see him either clean-shaven or with a full red beard. But it's a great picture!

Welcome Moseyer! Always glad to welcome another Jamie lover to the boards!

Hope to see you posting around the boards.

Thanks, diamondlil! I'm awaiting Gabaldon's last Jamie/Claire installment with more patience than I managed for the last two. It is nice to meet other fans. I'm still feeling my way through the technicalities of this site--so far so good!

Somebody else posted on another site that Phillip Winchester would make a good Jamie, if he had red hair. I don't think so myself. Does this chap do it for any of you?

Yes, I can see what the person meant, but does he do anything for me? Nope!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't think that looks like Jaime at all! I really hope that's not the guy who ends up cast in the movie. I always thought of Jaime with REALLY red hair, broader face, freckles, a big muscular hulk of a man....but still lithe and graceful, and able to move well. That guy just looks too metrosexual to me!

They are considering casting Gerard Butler as Jamie.

Although I don't think he looks anything like Jamie, I saw a clip of him on YouTube and I think he could pull it off. I like who they are considering for Claire as well. Check it out!

Personally, this is the closest you can get to what Jamie looks like (for what I have seen out there)

I couldn't see the picture in the link Diamondlil posted, so I uploaded the photo from my computer for you

DG has said that this is the closest she has seen too.

Regarding the casting for Jamie quoted below:
" Hollywood has been courting Gabaldon for many years now in an effort to bring her “Outlander” book series onto the big screens. However, Gabaldon has been holding out reportedly due to her wanting to “handpick” her hero, “Jamie Fraser”. Gabaldon has apparently already voiced her two (2) choices as actors: Scottish-born GERARD BUTLER and Welsh-born IOAN GRUFFUDD."
If anybody wants to read more and or support the petition to cast Gerard Butler as Jamie Fraser, I've posted the link!

His beard and hair are completely different colours!

Doesn't do it for me, neither does Gerard Butler really, there's something about him that just "misses" for me, loved him in Phantom of the Opera though!

This is a photoshop job, not a real hair colour!

Now in the pic below I can sort of see how Gerard Butler would make an OK Jaime. Still a little "too" handsome and not rugged enough for me but not that bad:

I think Gerard Butler would make a good older Jamie and the previous photo (I don't know who he is!) a great younger one. Both good looking men in my opinion.

Oh no he looks hideous, like a scarecrow! I like him dark and smouldering....plus I think he looks too old in this mock-up as well.

How about this guy? I can't remember his name -- but I'd heard through the grapevine that Ms. Gabaldon had mentioned him at a book signing. He's a model, as you might suspect.

I don't know -- I never pictured Jamie as drop-dead gorgeous -- a little more rugged -- but this comes closer -- for me -- than Gabriel Aubrey.

Wow!!! Yes, yes, yessss as a young Jamie in the first novel. This is very much as I see him. Thanks for posting! He's got the slight slant of the eyes (that DG is always mentioning) that I've not seen in the others.

I couldn't stand it -- had to dig around on my forum until I figured out who this guy is. His name is Tom Dunne.

He's very handsome !

Kind of weird, but I went to a bookshop near my work today and saw a guy in there with red hair, a bit rough looking but not as handsome as this Tom Dunne and he put me in mind of Jamie ! haha
