I really really want to like her books. i love anything set during the world wars, and many of her books are, but I just can't get past the atrocious writing! I've tried 4 different ones. Is it just me? Does anyone her like her? Are any of her books better than the rest?

She's one of those authors whose books I think look interesting in the library, but I pick them up only to very quickly put them back on the shelf because they seem a bit bland and formulaic. I like world war settings too but I need the book to have some kind of bite.

I've never read a book by this author but have a couple on my TBR pile. On Fantastic Fiction it likens her to Maeve Binchy and I like Maeve Binchy.

I have read everything I by Maeve Binchy. I don't see any comparison whatsoever!

Yes, it makes you wonder they do comparisons like that. I wouldn't have thought they would be particularly similar, seeing as one writes about stories set in Ireland and the other about stories set usually during WWII (I think!).
