I discovered a couple of new-to-me authors, through Amazon's "since you looked at that you might like this" feature. I've listed a few books by them below that sound like they might be really good. However, they have very few reviews. I'm just wondering if anyone here has read these books (or any others by these authors). If so, what did you think of them?

A Step in the Dark and All My Sisters by Judith Lennox

Sea Music by Sara MacDonald

I’ve read books by both these authors in the past. I enjoyed them at the time, but can’t remember anything in great detail. Both focus on women/family and relationships and Judith Lennox has written a mix of historical and modern fiction . As they’re both British authors, I suggest you try Amazon.co.uk for some up-to-date reviews.

I did read something by Judith Lennox a few years ago. It wasn't bad, but definitely HF-lite, along the lines of Kate Morton (The House at Riverton etc.).

I've read A Step in the Dark - I really enjoyed it. It's a sort of family saga type story. I have most of Judith Lennox's books on my TBR pile now.

I really, really like Kate Morton's writing. That is, I liked The Hidden Garden; didn't care for House at Riverton so much.

I checked these authors out on Amazon UK; still not a lot of reviews. I guess they're not all that popular. Nevertheless, I think I'll give them a try....

Thanks everyone for your feedback.

I'm not familiar with Sara MacDonald, but I've read quite a few of Judith Lennox's earlier books, and enjoyed them - I can recommend The Winter House and Some Old Lover's Ghost as the best ones, some of the others are OK but a bit predictable, albeit easy reads.

I enjoyed Judith Lennox's Written on Glass and Some Old Lover's Ghost. Solid 20th c family sagas as I remember. Kate Morton's books are similar but have more of a gothic feel to them.
