Just a little hello here. I am an assistant DA in one of the collar counties of Chicago. I love historical fiction set during the Viking period and have a small collection of books set in this time period. For my own edification I have wrote reviews for these books, and over time, I intend to share them here.

I look forward to participating here.

I'll look forward to your reviews. I haven't read a great deal of Viking fiction, at least not recently, so it will be good to get more information on what's out there.

Hi Nagoo- I'm partial to Vikings myself -- at the safe distance of several centuries :)

Hope to hear more from you, and look forward to your reviews.

Chuck- Robert Low has really upset me by declaring Prow Beast the last (for now, anyway), of the Oathsworn series. He's moving on to a series set in medieval Scotland which could also be very good. It will feature Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. I imagine RL's William will be a bit more authentic than Mel's :)

However, I'm sure I saw somewhere on Robert Low's website that he has another Viking book tucked away for later, about the uncanny Olaf Tryggvasson "Crowbone" (Olaf 1 of Norway) He appears in the last 2 "Oathsworn" books. So, we might get some more Vikings at some stage.

Welcome! I'm also looking forward to your reviews!

Am something of a Viking nerd myself, as my graphic novel on the Greenland Norse shows. It was recently described to me as "obscure".:D

Have you reviewed films as well?

Hello and welcome! What great timing regarding Vikings and your intro. I want to recommend some Viking HF to my father when I send his Barnes & Noble gift card to him today, and I think Robert Low/Oathsworn will be it.

I recommended Cornwell's The Last Kingdom and the rest of the series to him which he absolutely loved. I need to read the last three, myself. Northmen/Vikings are definitely favorites among HF for me.

Welcome to the forums!! I'm a big fan of Scandinavian mythology, myself, and have read a few "Viking" books, so will be looking with interest to see what you think of any titles I recognise!

Ha! It would be difficult not to achieve that.

Welcome to the forum! I love the Viking mythology. There was a great museum exhibit in NYC a couple of years ago about the sagas. Looking forward to your reviews!
