The Widow of the South by Robert Hicks.

The Civil War: the crinoline, the blood, and the suffering. I haven't learned much from reading this book other than a strong impression that I don't prefer first person narrative. It is based on a true story of a real woman, but it's not clear how much is fact and how much is fiction. There seems to be some actual historical information, including pictures at the back.

It's not a bad book, just not catching me.

Carla Nayland's Paths of Exile. Really liking it so far. Having trouble putting it down. The references to Arthur are nice. My 10 year old is in an early British history phase right now.

On to Not My Boy! by Rodney Peete.

Recognizing a lot of things and very glad our boys aren't quite as autistic as R.J. On the other hand, wishing we had the money to pay for more interventions for the boys.

Various novels, most of which I can't even remember titles of.

Tessa Dare's Stud Club Trilogy (that refers to a horse, not the men)

Currently Sandition by Jane Austen and Another Lady.

Working on North to the Orient by Anne Morrow Lindbergh, and I'm really enjoying the beautiful language.

Also mourning a world where people were friendly and helpful, rather than closed-off and suspicious.
