Hi Everyone,
Am very excited to find this forum!
Anyway, I'm Jenny and I'm a Tudor Junkie :D.
Actually, I'll read anything English from the Norman Conquests through to all the Hanovarian Georges...but the Tudors are by far my favourite period, followed by the War of the Roses, the Restoration, the Regency and lately I've become more interested in Edward ll/Isabella and Eleanor of Aquitane.
I do sometimes dabble in European history, but it usually has an English connection e.g. Katherine of Arogon's sister, Juana; Catherine Medici, Mary Queen of Scots MIL and Margaret of York in Burgundy.
I'm an avid reader of both Historical Fiction and Biography.

Hi Amanda,
Good to meet you!
I grew up in Sydney, then moved across to Adelaide in my early twenties (yes, there was a guy involved :p) and now I've been here more years than I care to remember...lol.
Welcome to the forum Jemidar, I'm sure you'll be right at home!

Hi Jemidar and welcome!
I have the opposite journey to you. I spent most of my formative years in Adelaide, but now I live in Melbourne.
Hope you enjoy the site.

Hi Jenny and welcome aboard. This place is very very dangerous to the pocketbook but we have fun all the same :);)

I don't need encouragement to buy books at the best of times, but now my list has quite a few more on it that I just have to have...and the sooner the better :p.
Seriously, is there anything better than talking books with friends?!!

Hi Vanessa,
Thanks for the welcome :).
Hi Jenny! I like Tudor, but I spread out around the globe from there -- anything renaissance!

Welcome Jenny! I like the Tudors too especially books about Anne Boleyn or Catherine Howard. I don't believe I've ever read The Scarlet Pimpernel, only seen the films. I believe I do have it upstairs though, inherited from an aunt, so it should go on the TBR pile!

Hi, MLE,
I will probably get there as I feel my interests wandering a lot more towards Europe lately, like I want the big picture with ALL the gossip, but for now, I'm just finding my way slowly through obvious connections :).
Welcome. Post early and often. :)
Thanks for the warning Divia! I'll just have to make sure life doesn't interfere with my online time in future :p.

Hi LoveHistory,
Pleased to meet you too. And yes, TSP is quite a fun read :).

Hi Anna,
Thanks for the welcome! I've been interested in The Scarlet Pimpernel for a while (loved the Richard E. Grant TV series) so thought it was about time I read it!

Hi Miss Moppet,
I'll read anything remotely Tudor, which is not always a good thing :p.
I finally started reading TSP because someone gave The Secret History of the Pink Carnation by Lauren Willig for Christmas, and although it wasn't bad, it wasn't great either and more than a little frivolous, so I thought it was about time to read the original. I've been meaning to quite literally for years!

Hi Madeline,
I'm starting to read more Medieval stuff lately too.
And I can see I'm going to have fun here. What a nice, friendly bunch of people :).
