I think you're doing quite well for the year! You might be interested in two other Anne Somerset books --

Unnatural Murder -- about a murder case during the reign of James I
The Affair of the Poisons -- a very good book about the scandal in Louis XIV

I tried to get BF to add "Affair" but their service who gets them books didn't have it or whatever. I'm still debating on if I want to get it because I have a older book about the same subject, though it might be interesting to see how they differ.

And ironically at the same time I found my book about the "Poisons" I found my copy of the Jean Plaidy book about the Overbury murder, "The Murder In The Tower". I might get to that one someday.

You're doing great for a year. I don't get to read as much as others on here and you've got me beat, I think. I haven't really read much lately with the politcal conventions on (I'm a politics junkie and so the conventions are like crack to me, lol) plus my trip to vegas. I plan to jump back in soon though! I miss reading!

I went through the read books in 2007 and my list of ordered books from BF to see what I read last year and it was only 31 books. Currently I'm at 39, I'll certainly read more then last year this year!

One reason I didn't read that much is that the last part of the year I was really very sick and it was struggle to read anything!

If anyone is curious at what I read last year, I'll post the list I made.

Thanks! I enjoyed them both. The Anglomania book was given to me a couple of decades ago so it was reread for me, and I still found it interesting. I found the "Serpent and the Moon" a easy and interesting read.
