I went to see the Art Deco exhibition that is on at the NGV in Melbourne yesterday. A lot of the pieces came from the V&A in London and there were just some amazing things there - jewellery, clothes, art, and lots of other things!
The picture I have is by artist Tamara Lempicka. This wasn't one of the ones shown, but there was another of hers that I really liked!
You can probably expect to see some more Art Deco from me in the future! :)

It's supposed to be Lady Jane Grey and she's reading a book, it fit for me.

Well I'm a Victorian Junky. For the past year all my avatars have been of Victorian ladies, but I really liked this one because she was reading a book. :)

Well I'm terribly unoriginal. My avator is Misfit the kittycat, my sweet baboo. Never, ever was a pet more aptly named. She's a weirdo (what else can one expect from a formerly feral kitten?), but she's my weirdo and I love her to bits. :):o:p

I love medieval tapestries. I had a cool avatar (with a different tapestry image) for the previous board and can't find the JPG or remember where I retrieved it from, so I've been trying to come up with a good one for the new site. This is my 3rd attempt to find one I liked! Hopefully I'll stick with it for a while.
Doesn't matter what my handle is, you all recognized the llama avatar, right?
We've had llamas since '81 as a hobby, and I've discovered for sheer quick identifiers, you can't beat a llama. Back when I did freelance home design, I quickly learned that people were more likely to remember me if I gave them a llama business card than if I gave them my design card. Our transition home was informally known as 'that llama place' and the guests seemed to prefer that designation to anything smacking of nonprofit.
Plus now that I no longer do wilderness outfitting, people pay me to come speak on llama topics. A much less labor-intensive way of way of paying the feed-bill than breeding and training, I can tell you!

Mine is a portrait, painted by Jean Clouet, of an unidentified lady from François I's court. I am using her as a model for the main character of the novel I am working on now.

Hmm thats very interesting that you say that. I collect old photographs and I am using one right now as a model for the main character in my story.
LOL! Not very origonal at the moment....its Tinkerbell from Peter Pan!
I keep an eye out for a new one all the time, but nothing has jumped out at me! I love the Art Deco one Marg!

Mine is just lady decorated with butterflies - my name is a genus of butterfly and I have loads of butterfly jewellery. I have a 'thing' about them. I have a few buddleia bushes in my garden which attract butterflies, too.

Mine is a drawing my friend did for me. Kailana was like my alter-ego for years... Especially when I was with my ex because he did an online comic! Anyways, Kailana is the blue-haired one. I switched computers and when I was moving things around I found some old drawings so I thought I would circulate them around.

Generally I've used pictures from the Prisoner. But I think I'm going to go avatar-less for a while, or at least until I think of a cool one. I was thinking of using a picture of me. I don't know.

Mine is a picture of Queen Henrietta Maria, daughter of Henri IV of France and wife of Charles I of England. She's the namesake for the state of Maryland.

My avatar is Lady Guenevere taken from the movie "Arthur". I just thought she looked great in this picture, nothing like a medieval woman ready to kick butt! :D
