Dan Brown US (http://www.amazon.com/Lost-Symbol-Dan-Brown/dp/0385504225/ref=pd_sim_b_4)and UK (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lost-Symbol-Dan-Brown/dp/059305427X/ref=pd_sim_b_6)covers were revealed today (and maybe others, I don't know).
I think I like the US cover better, although I'm wondering why they chose to place "a novel" in such a strange, empty spot down there.

I think I like the us one better though neither have me on the edge of my seat. Maybe the placement of "novel" was an after thought.

This is not a book I'm likely to read but I find neither cover particularly exciting - and for what is likely to be a mammoth bestseller, they could have come up with something less derivative.
I'm not sure why they even felt the need to add "a novel".
I marginally prefer the UK cover but I'm not sold on either and won't be reading the novel anyway!

Neither cover is particularly inspiring are they? Will probably get it when it comes out in paperback.

Dan Brown's covers lie a-mouldering in the sea, a-mouldering in the sea, a-mouldering in the sea, but royalties keep marching on.........

I pre-ordered a copy for my husband, who is a huge Dan Brown fan, so I'll probably be reading it. The U.S. Capitol dome is a prominent feature on the cover, so I guess it must be set in D.C. - wonder if the "lost symbol" has anything to do with the Masons? Several of the Founding Fathers were Masons, and we do have masonic symbols on our dollar bills.

Yes I think it is about the Masons.
