Anyone watched this? I have been watching it when I get the chance. I have one episode left to watch. It is a bit of fun! I like Alex Kingston and Hugh Bonneville as the Bennetts.

Sounds interesting. I'll see if Netflix has it. I recently finished the 2008 S&S and I'm not sending it back anytime soon.

Yep, I saw it earlier this month- t was played in two episodes over consecutive nights. I mentioned on the movie thread, so I'll just cheat and repeat what I said on the 2nd of Jan :)
"Lost in Austen" (http://www.itv.com/Drama/perioddrama/LostInAusten/default.html) - an entertaining piece of fluff. Premise - Elizabeth Bennet changes places with Amanda, a modern day Austen fan, who, thrown into the world of "Pride & Prejudice", makes many frantic, doomed efforts to keep the story on track, though events keep conspiring to derail it. There is a HEA ending, but with a twist.
Elliot Cowan does a great job of channelling Mr Darcy as portrayed by Colin Firth in the iconic BBC TV series of "Pride & Prejudice".

For the aussies: I thought the guy playing Mr Darcy looked like Samuel Johnson (from Secret Life of Us and other things) trying to be very very cranky!

I had every intention of trying to watch this, but apparently I didn't notice when it was on. Hopefully it will show on cable or something.

I got the DVD for Christmas and snobbishly I turned my nose up at it. It was quite good, however! It doesn't try to be clever or masterful; it's just fluff.
6/10

I watched the first half of this tonight and thought it was pretty entertaining. It is fluff, but it's fun fluff!
I think Hugh Bonneville is hysterical as Mr Bennett.

I would add a disclaimer and say that I am pretty sure that there are some Austen purists who would be absolutely horrified at this series

I believe I've met some of them. They don't much like my writing. I, on the other hand, love a good bit of craziness inspired by Austen. Though I do draw the line at aliens and zombies.

I just watched this on DVD (as with so many other shows, I missed it when it was on TV). What a hoot! I loved it, and as far as characterisation and performance goes, I think I have found the best Darcy yet.

Being the Austen junkie that I am, I better see this. I hope it's on Netflix.
I watched it when it was on ABC, and then went into the shop and got the DVD! I loved it! Yes, it is fluff, but it is good fluff! The extras on the dvd is good too.
Love the Darcy and pond bit! Poor bloke! It was filmed in the winter!!!!
